BEST1: Building for Energy Efficiency and Durability

This international building science review will present research in the areas of moisture control, building envelope design and durability, IAQ and energy efficiency in buildings. Two concurrent tracks will be presented with three related themes: energy, fenestration and moisture.
Knowledge gained from this program include:
- Commissioning buildings, thermal bridging effects, and thermal efficiency of building enclosures;
- Building construction and respiratory health effects and enclosure design to avoid risks of mold;
- Window technologies for different exposures and climates and window technologies pertaining to blast resistance safety and visual and thermal comfort.
